Area man is nabbed on firearm charge

CHARLESTON - An anonymous tip led law enforcement officers to a felon in possession of an illegal firearm.

Eric Antoine Dowell, 31, of Wilson City, is scheduled to be arraigned today before Associate Judge T. Lynn Brown on a charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm, according to Missouri Case.net.

Mississippi County Sheriff Keith Moore said information from an anonymous tip led to the arrest of Dowell.

"According to reports, Dowell had made comments about having a gun and he was going to shoot someone," Moore said in a news release.
