O'FALLON -- Violet Virginia Ellsworth, 92, died July 31, 2012, at the Garden View Care Center in O'Fallon.
Born May 12, 1920, at Bernie, to the late John O. and Jesse Pearl Watkins Wilson, she was a member of The Pilgrim's Rest Church in Fairdealing. She had worked as a caterer for Serv O Nation in St. Louis and as a cook for Newberry's in Poplar Bluff.
At Dexter, she married Orvil Ellsworth who preceded her in death in July 1971.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter in infancy, Yvonne Joyce Ellsworth, two brothers, John O. Wilson and William Stanfield, and two sisters, Wilma Kearbey and Cora Mae Jines.
She is survived by: two sons, Orvil Dean Ellsworth of Troy and Lonnie Ray Ellsworth of Wentzville; one daughter, Pam Smith of Columbia; and three grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren, five great-grandchildren, seven step-great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services were conducted today at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Donny Emmons officiating.
Burial followed in the Smith-Stevenson Cemetery.
