CHARLESTON -- Wanda Mae Gaines Pearson, 81, died Aug. 1, 2012, at the Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born Feb. 3, 1931, at Bernie, to the late William Ezra and Bertha Gladys Douglas Gaines, she had lived in Mississippi County most her life. She was member of the Southside Baptist Church in Charleston.
On Nov. 18, 1948, she married John Carl Pearson, who preceded her in death on Feb. 17, 2000.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Lilbourn Gaines and Jessie Gaines; and one grandson, Michael Alton Nicholson.
Surviving are: three daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda and Charles Williams, Carla and Bobby Norman and Gale and Grayling Nicholson all of Charleston; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the McMikle Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the Southside Baptist Church in Charleston. The Rev. Mike McKinney, pastor, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.
Pallbearers will be: Charlie Williams, Chris Brooks, Bill Shankle, Don McCann, Rocky Walker and Harold McClendon.
Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren: JC Williams, Heather Carmack, Holly Brooks and Jennifer Nicholson.
