EAST PRAIRIE -- John Z. "Bo" Kirby, 76, died at 8:45 a.m. Aug. 3, 2012, at the East Prairie Nursing Center.
Born Aug. 21, 1935, in Tallapoosa, to the late Vester and Mildred Johnson Kirby, he lived most of his life in East Prairie, served in the U.S. Army and was of the Baptist faith.
On Aug. 4, 1990, he married Audrella Watson who preceded him in death on Sept. 9, 2004.
He was also preceded in death by: one son, John Kirby Jr., his first wife, Ellen Williams; two stepdaughters, Peggy Robertson and Loretta Huff Carlyle; three sisters and three half brothers.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Susie Kirby and Louis and Tammy Kirby of East Prairie; one daughter, Mary Kirby of East Prairie; four stepsons, Steve Huff, Chucky Huff, Shaun Huff and Ricky Huff, all of East Prairie; two stepdaughters, Donna Hennrich of East Prairie and Tammy Evans of Sikeston; one brother, George Kirby of East Prairie; three sisters, Ruth Ann Burns of Diehlstadt, Nancy Hedge and Bonnie Brown of East Prairie; and 19 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is after 6 p.m. Sunday at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday with Buddy Hannah officiating.
Burial will follow in the East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Robert Brown, Jason Brown, Charlie Brown, Greg Nunn, Lee Jay Shands and Phillip Johnson.
