DEXTER -- James Franklin "Jim" Stepp, 80, died Aug. 14, 2012, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born April 25, 1932, in Grassy, to the late Nathan R. and Sarah B. VanEsler Stepp, he was an ordained General Baptist minister for 30 years.
He is survived by: a brother, Robert N. Stepp of Concord, Calif.; a sister, Dorothy M. King of Bowling Green; five sons and three daughters-in-law, James and Lisa Stepp of New Albany, Ind., John and Pam Stepp of Matthews, David Bruce and Keith and Marrianne Bruce of Dexter and John Bruce of Bloomfield; four daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and Robert Hanner of Bloomfield, Martha and Terry Rowland of Fisk, Dorothy Beyer and Ronnie Alsup of Dexter and Sarah and Joe Fluty of Louisa, Ky.; and a special friend, Anna Bruce of Bloomfield.
He was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters: John W. Stepp, Nathan B. Stepp, George H. Stepp, Leonard H. Stepp, Semla M. Henderson, Margaret E. Hoffner, Betty M. Stepp and Beatrice Nell Miller.
Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until time of memorial services at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.
Burial will follow at the Grassy Friendship Cemetery.
