OWENSBORO, Ky. -- Labor Day may mark the official end of the summer travel season but Owensboro, a Kentucky town tucked away on the Ohio River, is close enough for a quick trip any time, and there are plenty of things to do for everyone in the family.
From Sikeston, head east on Highway 60 across the Mississippi River, through Illinois into Kentucky. The road winds and weaves through small towns and rolling fields of corn eventually leading to Owensboro.
