DEXTER -- Roberto Espada-Morales, 85, died Aug. 18, 2012, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter.
Born Feb. 25, 1927, in Barranquitas, Puerto Rico, to the late Juan Espada-Rios and Isabell Espada-Morales, he had lived in Puerto Rico and New York before moving to the Dexter area in 1967. He had worked for 25 years at the Mingo Job Corps as a supervisor. He was a member of the Risen Church in Dexter and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Surviving are: two daughters and sons-in-law, Rebecca and Richard Warren of Dexter and Robin Ann and Louis Spaccamonte of Kennewick, Wash., six sons and three daughters-in-law, Mike and Judy Deal, Roger Brinkley and Joshua Brinkley of Poplar Bluff, Bob and Christine Espada of Las Vegas and Eddie and Carla Espada and John Espada of Kennewick; four sisters, Engracia Espada-Morales Rivera and Carmen Espada-Morales Santiago of Barranquitas, Maria Espada Morales of Bayamon, Puerto Rico, and Antiona Espada-Morales Miranza of Boston; and 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Pedro Espada-Morales and Jorge Espada-Morales, and one sister, Candida Espada-Morales Berrios.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at the Risen Church with the Rev. Josh Carpenter of Dexter officiating.
Burial with full military honors will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
