AURORA, Colo. -- Ethel Lou Washington Shepherd, 93, died Aug. 16, 2012, at the Medical Center of Aurora.
Born Aug. 13, 1919, in Lamar, Miss., she was the daughter of the late Henry and Olivia Campbell. She was a member of the Progressive Church of God in Christ in Caruthersville, Mo.
In 1964, she married George Shepherd who preceded her in death in 1979.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Willie Mae Owens, one son, James Dye, one stepson, Jerry Shepherd, and four brothers and two granddaughters.
Survivors include: two sons, Jacks Jones Jr. and Richard James Jones Sr. of New Madrid, Mo.; three stepchildren, Zelnora Brown of Fulton, Ky., Dorothy Grissom of Lilbourn, Mo., and James Earl Shepherd of West Memphis, Ark.; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Arvelia Jennings.
Visitation is scheduled from 11 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m. Saturday at the DeLisle Funeral Home in Portageville, Mo.
Burial will follow in the Portageville Cemetery.
