SIKESTON -- Kristi Lynn Forrest Ryan, age 50, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2012, with family at her side after a courageous fight against breast cancer
Born March 27, 1962, in Sikeston, to the late Paul William and Frances Ellen (Jett) Forrest, she graduated from Missouri School for the Blind in 1981 then graduated from Southeast Missouri State University with a degree in Early Childhood Development in 1990. She was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church and president and secretary of the Missouri Delta Area Blind Council.
In addition to her parents, one sister, Lisa Forrest, preceded her in death.
She is survived by: one son, David Paul Ryan of Sikeston; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Paul Neil Forrest of Springville, Tenn., and Jon Allen and Kathy Forrest of Sikeston; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Tanya and Roger Lindsey, Dena and William Merick and Shannan and Roy Morton all of Sikeston; five nephews, Ryan Lindsey, Justin (Abbi) Lindsey, Brandon (Leslie) Winchester, Matt (Addie) Winchester and Jeremy Morton; two nieces, Ashley (Chris) Gaab and Alison Forrest; two great-nieces; four great-nephews; and her special cat, Nana.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Aug. 23, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Friday, Aug. 24, at 11 a.m. at Concordia Lutheran Church, 836 Wakefield in Sikeston, with the Rev. A.J. Wollenburg, pastor of Concordia Lutheran Church, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Winchester, Jeremy Morton, Matt Winchester, Chris Gaab, Ryan Lindsey and Justin Lindsey.
