Funds awarded to fight drugs in community

WASHINGTON -- A federal grant will help fund Sikeston's effort to become a drug-free community.

On Friday, it was announced the Office of National Drug Control Policy will continue to fund two Drug Free Communities grants in Southern Missouri. A $125,000 grant will be made to SEMO Prevention in Sikeston, and a $150,000 grant will be made to the Youth Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition of Southeast Missouri in Cape Girardeau.
