PUXICO -- Clarabelle "Shelby" Magill, 73, died Aug. 25, 2012, at the Puxico Nursing Center.
Born Jan. 30, 1939, in Poplar Bluff, to the late William Thomas and Lyda Jane Fuller Magill, she had lived St.Louis for 11 years before returning to Puxico. She was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Puxico where she was a Sunday school and Bible school teacher. She worked at Arvin for 28 years and was a greeter at Walmart.
Surviving are: two daughters and sons-in-law, Annie and Ronnie Davis of Puxico and Scarlett and Chuck Caldwell of Bloomfield; one son and daughter-in-law, Elmer and Angela Shelby of Tell City, Ind.; two nieces whom she raised, Darlene Smith of St.Clair and Nettie Bull of Lonedell; and four grandchildren and one great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by four brothers Thomas Magill, Cecil Magill, Clarence Magill and Vern Magill, and two sisters, Catherine Sparks and Vanita Whitener.
Services were conducted today at the First General Baptist Church in Puxico with the Revs. Dr. Elmer Shelby of Tell City and Kenneth Lambert of Bloomfield officiating.
Burial followed in the Puxico Cemetery with Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Puxico in charge of arrangements.
