CORRYTON, Tenn. -- Helen Alberta "Sue" Wise, 85, formerly of Sikeston, Mo., died at 5 a.m. Aug. 25, 2012, at the Brakebill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Knoxville.
Born Oct. 3, 1926, in Matthews, Mo., to the late Albert and Effie Widows Cox, she had worked as a waitress at South Y Restaurant in Sikeston and later as a machine operator at the Oran Hat Factory. She was a charter member of the First Assembly of God Church in Sikeston and a 50-year member and past worthy matron of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 137 in Sikeston.
On Oct. 4, 1946, at Charleston, Mo., she married George Collier. On May 22, 1976, in Bettendorf, Iowa, she married Walter Leo Wise who preceded her in death on Nov. 15, 2011.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include: one daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Danny Marshall of Corryton; two stepdaughters and a son-in-law, Charlotte Wise of Logansport, Ind., and Marlene and Rick Lopez of Dallas; and seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m., with an Eastern Star service at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel in Sikeston where services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. The Revs. Dewayne Maynard, pastor of First Assembly of God Church in Sikeston, and Rev. Steve Bilsland, associate pastor of Calvary Assembly Church of Dunwoody, Ga., will officiate.
Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
Pallbearers will be: Leroy Price, Gino Lopez, Blake Rister, Karl Klimmeck, Chad Price, Alex Roach, Rick Green and Paul Gillean.
