SIKESTON -- In their first home game of the season, the Sikeston Lady Bulldogs softball team crushed visiting Puxico 25-0 in three innings.
Paige Sailors pitched two innings and struck out six in earning the win. Kayla Fodge struck out three in the last inning.
Maggie Shepherd hit an inside the park home run while Sydney King, who hit a double and triple, and Sarah Dixon, who added a double, each went 2 for 2.
Annie Ramey, Bayleah James and Sailors each had a hit apiece as well.
Sikeston (2-0) will host Perryville today at 4 p.m. at the Sikeston Sports Complex.
EAST PRAIRIE -- Ciara Coomer went 3 for 5 with two doubles and struck out 10 batters in a road win for Delta (1-2).
Machela VanGennip also went 3 for 5 with a double, while Rachel Birkman and Jenna Henson each connected for a double.
SCOTT CITY -- The Scott City Lady Rams lost in three sets to Fredericktown in their first match of the season, 15-25, 25-21 and 20-25 in Scott City Monday.
The Lady Rams travel to Grandview tonight at 5 p.m.
