HARLINGEN, Texas -- Dora Irene Cooper Vogel, 94, died Aug. 21, 2012, at the Ebony Lake Nursing Center in Brownsville.
Born April 23, 1928, in Bloomfield, Mo., to the late Judge Malcolm Walker Cooper and Ethel Stevens Cooper, she graduated from Bloomfield High School and received a teaching degree from Southeast Missouri State Teachers College in Cape Girardeau, Mo. She was a longtime teacher in the Kennett, Mo., and Sikeston, Mo., school districts.
She is survived by: two sons, Harold Craig Vogel of South Padre Island and Malcolm Cooper Vogel of Harlingen; and eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Malcolm Walker Cooper Jr. and Roy Gene Cooper.
Graveside services were held Aug. 23 in the Heavenly Grace Memorial Park.
The Heavenly Grace Funeral Home and Crematory was in charge of arrangements.
