Lady Bulldogs fall to Dexter, 8-1

SIKESTON -- Kelsey Dial posted the only win for the Sikeston Lady Bulldogs tennis team Wednesday against the visiting Dexter Lady Bearcats at Sikeston High School.

Dial defeated Dexter's Baylee Cooper 8-2.

Dexter also won the junior varsity match 6-1.

KENNETT -- The Charleston Lady Bluejays were defeated by Kennett Wednesday during a 9-0 loss at Kennett. Kennett also won the junior varsity contest, 6-0.

St. Vincent 5, Scott City 2

PERRYVILLE -- The Scott City Lady Rams fell to the St. Vincent Lady Lady Indians on Thursday, 5-2.

In rallying for two runs in the third innings the Lady Rams were able to take their only lead of the game before the Lady Indians came back to tie things with two runs in the fourth.

St. Vincent jumped ahead for good with a three-run rally in the sixth as they held Scott City scoreless the rest of the way.

Leading the Lady Rams effort was Tana Tetley, who went 2 for 3 on the contest.

Now standing at 1-1, Scott City will begin pool play in the Notre Dame Softballfest today at Kelso against Kelly at 4 p.m.. They'll play Sikeston later in the evening at 7 p.m.
