EAST PRAIRIE -- Families once again will have the opportunity to enjoy a day of old-fashioned fun during the 24th annual Living History Day.
Set for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 8 at Big Oak Tree State Park near East Prairie, the event sponsored by Missouri State Parks is free and open to the public.
"We always have a really good turnout and well over 1,000 people attend," said Vicki Jackson, interpretive resource specialist for the Hunter-Dawson State Historic Site which puts on the event.
Jackson said she thinks the high turnout is due to the event being so well established.
"People know it's going to happen the second Saturday in September," Jackson said.
