Poplar Bluff hands Lady Bulldogs 6-3 loss at home

SIKESTON -- The Sikeston Lady Bulldogs tennis team won three games against the visiting Poplar Bluff Lady Mules but lost the match, 6-3.

Sikeston's Kelsey Dial, Martha Neel and Ali Price all won their singles matches.

"I saw very good singles play from Kelsey, Martha and Ali," Sikeston head coach Russ Dial said.

Sikeston, who will travel to Charleston today to take on the Lady Bluejays at 4 p.m., was swept in doubles and also lost 6-3 in junior varsity competition.

Sikeston Invitational Tournament

The Kennett Lady Indians tennis team dominated the Sikeston Invitational Tournament held at Sikeston Public High School over the weekend.

There was both a singles and doubles bracket. They each held eight participants.

Anna Kay Hilburn defeated her teammate Darby Sparks, 8-5 in the singles championship.

Fredericktown's Courtney Holliday and Myranda Schafer took home the doubles by defeating Kennett's Kelsey Washburn and Kate White.
