DEXTER -- Marvin Russell Allen, 91, formerly of Sikeston, died at 1:20 p.m. Sept. 13, 2012, at the Crowley Ridge Care Center.
Born July 7, 1921, in Bloomfield, son of the late Steve and Jenny Avery Allen, he worked for 20 years as an auto machinist and was a line operator for the Sikeston Board of Municipal Utilities for 27 years. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
On Aug. 22, 1942, at Bloomfield, he married Margaret Robinson who preceded him in death on June 17, 2000.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by one daughter, three brothers, one sister and one great-granddaughter.
Survivors include: one daughter and son-in-law, Eleanor and DuWayne Standridge of Dexter; two grandsons, Stephen (Denise) Alsup of Paragould, Ark., and Terry (Diane) Alsup of Elk Grove, Calif.; and five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. till time of services at noon Monday at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel in Sikeston with the Rev. Tom McCanless officiating.
Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
