James Jones

DEXTER -- James E. Jones, 79, died Sept. 16, 2012, at his home.

Born Jan. 9, 1933, in Springfield, to the late Eugene and Sue DeGrant Jones, he was a retired supervisor at the Division of Family Services in Bloomfield. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served in the Korean War, and a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Dexter.

On Dec. 11, 1972, in Dexter he married Barbara A. Hodge who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Heather Jones of St. Louis; and one sister, June Mothersbaugh of Dexter.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Jeanne Pepper.

Visitation is scheduled from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with the Rev. Adam Mueller officiating.
