SIKESTON -- Judith Margaret Aufdenberg, 73, of Sikeston, died Wednesday Sept. 19, 2012, at her home.
A native of Birmingham, Ala., Judy was the daughter of Julian C. and Margaret E. Letcher. She attended Stephens College in Columbia and was a graduate of Samford University in Birmingham. Early in her career, she taught mathematics in Dallas school systems and then for Sikeston Public Schools. Later, Judith was co-owner and worked with her husband, Jerry, at Aufdenberg Equipment Company.
She was a longtime resident of Sikeston and a member of First United Methodist Church. She volunteered with various community organizations.
Judy is survived by her husband of 50 years, Jerry D. Aufdenberg of the home; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Scott C. Aufdenberg of Sikeston and Bradley and Jennifer Aufdenberg of Jacksonville, Fla.; two grandchildren, Benjamin and Emily Aufdenberg of Jacksonville; and her beloved pet, Sassy.
Visitation is scheduled from noon until 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23 at the First United Methodist Church in Sikeston. Funeral services will follow immediately in the sanctuary with the Rev. Geoff Posegate officiating.
Graveside services will follow at the Sikeston Memorial Park Cemetery with Dave Dealy officiating.
Pallbearers will be: Ben Aufdenberg, David Dealy, Brian Dealy, Mark Deane, Bill Deane ll and Jacob Priday.
