HOMEWOOD, Ill. -- Sarah I. Jackson, 89, died Oct. 2, 2012, in Homewood.
Born Oct. 8, 1922, in Sikeston, daughter of the late James L. and Anna Margaret Moser Harmon, she had worked as a bookkeeper before retiring.
On Dec. 3, 1948, in Sikeston, she married Harvie S. Jackson, who preceded her in death on Feb. 1, 2010.
Survivors include: two daughters and sons-in-law, Joanna and the Rev. Douglas Gugudan of Richton Park, Ill., and Marilynn and the Rev. Robert Mitchell of Homewood; three brothers, the Rev. James L. Harmon of Wichita Falls, Texas, the Rev. Bill Harmon of Pacific and Finas Harmon of Dover, Ark.; two sisters, Helen Standridge of Lufkin, Texas and Peggy Glover of Dinuba, Calif.; four grandchildren, Michelle Hitchcock, Sara and William Thompson Jr., Joseph Gugudan and Timothy Gugudan; and five great-grandchildren, Jackson Mitchell, Asheligh Thompson, Madison Thompson, Adam Thompson and Berry Hitchcock.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Benedict Harmon and the Rev. Ralph Harmon; and four sisters, Virginia Bennett, Dorothy Wilson, the Rev. Anna Mae Harmon and Betty Lou Sjelin.
Visitation is from 9 a.m. until service time at 10 a.m. Friday at Ponder Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert Mitchell and Rev. Douglas Gugudan will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
