JEFFERSON CITY -- Dorothy M. Huls, 86, died Oct. 1, 2012, at her home.
Born Nov. 7, 1925, in Marked Tree, Ark., daughter of the late Bert and Nina Glasner Wyrick, she attended high school in Morehouse and worked at Blum's Department Store in Sikeston. She later worked at a factory in St. Louis making ammunition during World War II. A resident of Jefferson City for over 50 years, she was employed in the office at Schulte's IGA for 30 years before retiring in 1987.
On May 24, 1949, in Independence, she married John C. Huls, who preceded her in death on Nov. 21, 2007.
She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Don Wyrick, Arnold Wyrick, J.W. Wyrick and Jim Wyrick.
Survivors include: one daughter and son-in-law, Teresa L. and Leon Cook of Jefferson City; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Max T. Huls of Jacksonville, Fla., James G. and Sandy Huls of Holts Summit and John K. and Suzanne Huls of Somerset, Pa.; one sister, Jo Ann Wyrick Jackson of Dexter; one brother, Charles Wyrick of Morehouse; and nine grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled from 10-11 a.m. Thursday at Freeman Mortuary in Jefferson City.
Graveside services will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the Riverview Cemetery in Jefferson City.
