SIKESTON -- The Sikeston Bulldogs seventh and eighth grade football teams were both dealt losses by the Jackson Indians Thursday at Sikeston Public Schools Stadium.

The seventh grade lost 22-8 after letting an early lead slip away after the first quarter.

Sikeston held an 8-6 lead going into the second quarter.

Matthew Perry broke free for a 79-yard touchdown run that was capped by a 2-point conversion run by Fred Thatch to give Sikeston a two-point lead. Jackson, however, scored 16 unanswered points to win the first game of the night.

The Sikeston eighth grade trailed 20-8 at halftime and never recovered, falling 26-14.

Sikeston quarterback Phayzun Fobbs scurried into the end zone on a keeper run for 62 yards in the second quarter. Kamari Balton scored the 2-point conversion.

Sikeston scored their second touchdown through the air when Camden Sapp connected with Balton for a 43-yard pass.
