Oran man is jailed on child abuse charges

BENTON - An Oran man is in custody on child abuse charges after striking a 2-year-old in the face.

Cameron M. Gettings, 21, is charged with two counts of felony child abuse, and first degree endangering the welfare of a child.

According to Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter, emergency medical personnel responded to a residence on Railroad Street in Oran Wednesday afternoon.
