COVINGTON, Tenn. -- Betty Harkness Bledsoe, 80, died Oct. 14, 2012, at the Covington Care Center.

Born May 22, 1932, in Henning, to the late Bryan and Allie Mae Pittman Roy, she moved from Tennessee to Dexter, Mo., in 1972 and back to Tennessee in 2004. She was a member of the Poe Baptist Church.

On April 8, 1983, in Dexter, she married Mirel Bledsoe who preceded her in death March 28, 1997.

She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Bryan Roy Jr., Tommy Roy and Franklin Roy, and one sister, Pauline Glenn.

Surviving are: two sons, Roy Harkness of Ripley and Danny Harkness of Des Arc, Mo.; one sister, Annette Gray of Covington; and five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services were conducted today at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Burial followed in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter.
