EAST PRAIRIE -- The Sikeston junior high girls basketball program remained unbeaten Friday when both the seventh and eighth grade Lady Bulldogs defeated East Prairie 28-27 and 40-7.

The seventh grade girls pulled out a come from behind win with just 30 seconds remaining in the contest. Hailey Noon cleaned up a missed shot and stuck the put back to put the Lady Bulldogs ahead by one and preserve a Sikeston win.

Sikeston was outscored 8-13 in the second half as foul trouble haunted the young squad.

"I think after a comfortable win in Charleston, the girls had to adapt to playing more minutes and learn how to stay focused while dealing with fatigue," Sikeston junior high coach Keyth Blissett said. "They persevered and did what was necessary to get the win. This is a very inexperienced group, but they are learning and adjusting quickly."
