Filing for city council positions begins today

SIKESTON -- Today is the first day residents may file as candidates for election to the Sikeston City Council.

Three positions will be filled by the April 2, 2013 election; that of the At-Large, Ward 1 and Ward 4 Council Representatives. These positions are currently held by Michael Bohannon, an at-large representative who has completed two full terms on the City Council and Mike Conway Ward 1 and Maude Harris Ward 4 representatives who will be eligible for re-election to a 3-year term.

To be eligible for these Council positions, a candidate must be a qualified voter of Sikeston, who is at least 21-years of age.
