Two seriously injured in separate accidents on Tuesday afternoon

SIKESTON - A driver was seriously injured in a head-on collision Tuesday afternoon.

At 2:49 p.m. on Highway 61, one mile south of Sikeston, A southbound truck driven by Paul D. Linebaugh, 48, of Charleston ran off the right side of the road. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Linebaugh's vehicle crossed the center of the road striking a northbound tractor-trailer driven by Richard A. Hanlon, 55, of Matthews.

Linebaugh, who was seriously injured, was taken by Air Evac to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau for treatment.

Also a child was seriously injured in an accident Tuesday.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported at 6:35 p.m. on Highway 62, a tenth of a mile east of Malden in New Madrid County, Amber L. Deprow, 28, of Tallapoosa was driving eastbound when she failed to yield the right of way. Deprow's vehicle struck a northbound truck driven by Jonathon L. Liles, 18, of Clarkton.
