JACKSON - Edith Glenda Johnston, 93, died Nov. 5, 2012, at her home in Jackson.
Born May 23, 1919, in Dexter to the late John Henry Law and Anna Allard Law, she lived briefly in South Africa as a child where her father was a missionary, but lived most of her life near Puxico, where she and her husband farmed. She served as a vacation Bible school director and Sunday school teacher for many years, and, for decades, was the choir director for the First Baptist Church of Puxico.
In 1936, she married Andrew Jackson (AJ)) Johnston, who preceded her in death.
In addition to her husband, one son, Marvin Lee Johnston, and two infant children, Barbara Joyce Johnston and William Ray Johnston, preceded her in death.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Carroll Deane and Marilyn Johnston; and six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. until time of the memorial service at 7 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Puxico.
Burial services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the Puxico Cemetery with the Rev. Ed Dunivan officiating.
