EAST PRAIRIE -- Gerry Poley, 83, formerly of Grand Chain, Ill., died at 8:15 a.m. Nov. 7, 2012, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born May 31, 1929, in Nolan, W.Va., to the late William and Nora Lucas Blevins, she lived in Grand Chain for several years before moving back to East Prairie. She was of the Baptist belief.
On Dec. 28, 1953, she married Paul Thomas Poley Sr., who preceded her in death on Feb. 10, 1993.
Survivors include: one son, Paul Thomas Poley Jr. of Grand Chain; two grandsons and one granddaughter, Dustin Floyd and Casey Poley and Justin Paul and Claire Poley and Macey Bratton all of East Prairie; her mother-in-law, Lucy Poley of East Prairie; and a great-granddaughter.
Besides her parents and husband, two brothers, Erman Blevins and Ben Blevins; four sisters, Wanda Puckett, Yvonne Marcum, Edis Reed and Oretha Runyon, preceded her in death.
Visitation is after 6 p.m. today at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in the Shelby Chapel with Eric McGruder officiating.
Burial will follow in the Anniston Cemetery.
