November shines light on adoption, foster parenting

SIKESTON -- For those who want a child but are unable to have one biologically, adoption has long been the answer for many.

In light of November being National Adoption Awareness Month, Brenda Miller, adoption specialist for the 33rd Judicial Circuit of the Missouri Children's Division in Sikeston, is encouraging and reminding those hoping for children to consider the option of adopting or foster parenting a child.

"There are more than 1,400 Missouri children looking for a home," Miller said, adding all of these children are in state custody.
