BLOOMFIELD -- The Rev. Tony Kevin Eskew, 60, died Nov. 13, 2012, at the Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
Born Feb. 22, 1952, in Piggott, Ark., to the late Vaval Royal Eskew and Mary Ellen Smith Eskew, he served as pastor of the First General Baptist Church of Bloomfield for 35 years. He served on the Ministerial Alliance and was the first president of the General Baptist Council of Associations. He had a Bachelor of Arts degree in religious studies from Oakland State University and later received his master's degree in Christian counseling from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va.
On June 2, 1973, in Poplar Bluff, he married Becky who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: a daughter and son-in-law, Tonya and Bruce Skinner of Cape Girardeau; a son, Tim Eskew of Kennett; a sister, Sharon Vernon of Piggott; a brother, Kim Eskew of Springdale, Ark.; and two grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the First General Baptist Church in Bloomfield where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday. Greg Stevens, pastor, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Bloomfield Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Tim Eskew, Kim Eskew, Bruce Skinner, Tony Eskew, Chad Eskew and Dustin Hicks.
The Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home of Dexter is in charge of arrangements.
