CAPE GIRARDEAU -- The Sikeston junior varsity basketball team took third place in the Notre Dame JV Tournament Friday defeating Jackson 69-33 at Notre Dame High School.

The Bulldogs (2-1) were defeated by Poplar Bluff 53-46 during the semifinal round Wednesday putting them in the third place game.

"It was good to bounce back and play pretty well against Jackson," Junior varsity head coach Brian James said. "Bluff worked us over pretty good. It's early in the season and I think we learned a lesson in that game -- to be ready to play at the start of the game.

"We've got to be the aggressor and we were not against Bluff."
