MORLEY -- Freddie Ralph Hicks, 77, died Nov. 24, 2012, at his home.
Born Sept. 26, 193,5 in Commerce, to the late Arvel Yewell and Viola Isabelle Webber Hicks, he retired from the U.S. Army as a staff sergeant first class in 1977 after 20 years of service.
On Feb. 24, 1957, he married Geneive Melba Emerson who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Freddie Ralph and Teresa Hicks Jr. of Morley; three daughters and sons-in-law, Mae Linda and Byron Klingel of Broughton, Ill., Cynthia and Barry Curtis of Imperial and Rita and Rick Swinney of Morley; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Edward Hicks of Sikeston and Orren and Wanda Hicks of DeKalb, Ill.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Gearldean and John Adcock of Iuka, Ill., and Earlene and Russell Kirkpatrick of Gilbertsville, Ky.; and 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, two brothers, three sisters and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston where services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Randy Conn, pastor of First Baptist Church of Morehouse, will officiate.
