WESTWOOD, Mass. -- Janet Stauffer, 61, died Nov. 25, 2012.
Born July 13, 1951, in Pawtucket, R.I., to her loving parents Harold and Dorothy Perethian, she spent some of her childhood in Pawtucket before moving to Needham where she attended high school. Upon graduating, she enrolled at Colby College in Waterville, Maine, where she studied English, made wonderful friends, spent a semester in Italy and met her first husband, Larry Bigelow.
After graduating from Colby, she and her husband moved to West Hartford, Conn., where they began a family by having a son, Stephen, on July 12, 1979. It was only a few years later before her growing family moved back to Needham and soon had a second son, Chris, on Sept. 5, 1986. Janet raised her family there before marrying Dale Stauffer in September 2006 and moving to Westwood.
Dale and Janet enjoyed all aspects of life including traveling, hosting friends, becoming grandparents and enjoying true companionship. Throughout her life, Janet cherished her time as a devoted mother, a successful technical writer and a loving wife. She will be remembered for her loving, caring and comforting presence that she elegantly carried.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-7 p.m. today at the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Ave., in Needham, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Wednesday. Interment services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Swan Point Cemetery, 585 Blackstone Blvd., Providence, R.I. A reception will follow at 3:30 p.m. at Janet and Dale's home at 47 Whitewood Road in Westwood.
