BERNIE -- Vallie Walls, 91, died Nov. 27, 2012, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born Nov. 19, 1921, in Malden, to the late Edward and Nettie Mae Riley Walls, he grew up in the Parma area. He moved to Pontiac, Mich., where he lived until 1978 when he moved back to Bernie after retiring from Pontiac Motors where he had worked in maintenance repairing machines. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Dexter, the UAW, the Elks for several years and was also a past member of the Dexter Eagles.
On March 15, 1941, he married Lois Gilbow who preceded him in death March 4, 2000. On Feb. 14, 2001, in Piggott, Ark., he married Mary Sue Robinson who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: three sons, Jerry Walls of Dexter, Gary Walls of Ocean Springs, Miss., and Tom Robinson of Bernie; one daughter, Doris Turner of Bernie; one brother, Hubert Walls of the state of Florida; and seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of services at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Tom Bass of Cape Girardeau officiating.
Burial will follow at the Duncan Cemetery in Dexter.
