Lady Bluejays edge Hayti 64-57, Sikeston freshmen down Tigers

CHARLESTON -- After taking a six-point lead into halftime against Hayti on Monday, the Charleston Lady Bluejays held on for a 64-57 win.

Outscoring the Lady Indians 18-10 in the first quarter, the Lady Bluejays grabbed control from the start. Hayti closed its deficit to five going into the fourth quarter, but were outscored 20-17 in the final frame as Charleston (3-1) sealed the win.

E'Neikqua Ewing scored a team-high 25 points for the Lady Bluejays with Sierra Frazier contributing 17 points while going 8 of 11 from the free throw line.

Sikeston led 16-10 after one quarter and 29-22 at the half.

Sikeston was led by Dominique Dyes with 19 points. Earnest Fobbs followed up with 12 points and Juwon Kimble added 10 points.
