NEW MADRID -- Authorities are describing the death of a missing man as accidental.
Following a day-long search, authorities found the body of Irvin Wayne Matlock, 34, at about 6:30 p.m. Monday, in a field near Route M, south of Point Pleasant.
According to the New Madrid County Sheriff's Office, Matlock was last seen walking into a field off of Route M south of Point Pleasant around 8:45 p.m. Sunday. Matlock, who is considered legally blind, was possibly walking to his residence in Portageville, when he disappeared, authorities said.
