DEXTER -- James Richard Algood, 56, died Dec. 13, 2012, at his home.

Born Sept. 19, 1956, in Paducah, Ky., to the late James Harrison and Altheline Harper Algood, he was a member of the Stokelan Drive Christian Church in Malden. He had been employed as a licensed practical nurse at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff and as a foreman at Noranda Aluminum in New Madrid.

On June 30, 2001, in Malden, he married Debra Joy Tracer who preceded him in death Aug. 25, 2010.

He was also preceded in death by one brother, Alan Dale Algood, and one sister, Margaret Algood.

Survivors include: one son, Jeremy Algood of Bernie; one stepson, David T. Miller of Cape Girardeau; one stepdaughter, Cara M. Dillinger of Bernie; and two stepgrandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Monday at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Dan Hargrave officiating.

Burial will follow at the Bethlehem Cemetery in Palma, Ky.
