Braves prevail in OT over defending champions

BRANSON -- The Scott County Central Braves ended their participation in the Ozark Mountain Shootout on a positive note Saturday defeating the defending Class 2 state champions.

In an overtime thriller, the Braves knocked off Billings 111-96.

Scott Central (4-4) scored a whopping 25 points in the four minute overtime after the two tied at the end of the fourth, 86-86.

Scott Central junior guard LaRandis Banks scored on a putback at the buzzer to send the game into overtime. He then scored 16 of his game-high 38 points in overtime to give Billings their first loss of the year.

Freshman Jeffery Porter added another 21 while junior Jaylen Porter scored 15.

The Braves' next game will be today at Delta.
