DYERSBURG, Tenn. -- The New Madrid County Central Eagles didn't leave Dyersburg, Tenn., empty handed.
The Eagles completed a furious second half comeback to win the consolation championship against Caruthersville Saturday during the 2012 Dyersburg Christmas Tournament.
Struggling in the first half, the Eagles found themselves looking up at a 21-14 deficit after the first quarter and then a 9-point Caruthersville lead at halftime.
The Eagles stormed out of the second half, however, tying the game at 51-all at the end of the third quarter. NMCC put the game away in the final frame by outscoring the Tigers 24-15.
NMCC sophomore Willie Jimerson continues to be one of the area's leading scorers posting a game-high 29 points against Caruthersville. Darrin McGloson added 15 points.
Caruthersville, who had four players in double figures, was led by Darrell Monroe's 20 points.
