SIKESTON -- Whether it is their first term in office or their last, this area's representatives in the Missouri House are looking forward to the coming session.

Republican Holly Rehder, elected to represent the 160th District, will assume her office as a freshman with the beginning of the legislature's term Jan. 9 -- the first Wednesday after January's first Monday.

Democrat Steve Hodges, first elected in 2006 to join the House in January 2007, finished six years as the 161st District's state representative.

New district boundaries go into effect this term. As state representatives are limited to four two-year terms, representing the 149th District this term will be Hodges' last two years in a state representative office.

Both Hodges and Rehder will hit the ground running next week.
