Two arrested for Tuesday robbery

SIKESTON -- A St. Louis man and a Sikeston woman are in custody on numerous charges after an early morning robbery Tuesday in Sikeston.

Mark A. Stokes, 36, and Aundrea N. Thompson, 17, have been charged with Class A felonies of first degree robbery and first degree elder abuse; Class C felonies of felonious restraint and receiving stolen property; Class B felony of first degree burglary and unclassified felony of armed criminal action.

The arrests stem from an incident early Tuesday morning. Sikeston Department of Public Safety officers responded to a residence on Second Street in reference to an armed robbery. Upon their arrival, officers made contact with an 83-year-old female at her residence.
