NEWBERN, Tenn. -- Giving up 32 points in the fourth quarter, the Charleston Bluejays let a tie game slip away to Dyer County, Tenn., Thursday night during the Penny Hardaway Hoopfest at Dyer County High School, 93-76.
Following a 61-61 tie at the end of the third quarter, Dyer County outscored the Bluejays by 17 points to give Charleston just their second loss of the year.
Dyer County led 44-43 at the half.
Dyer County's Robert Hubbs took over in the fourth scoring a game-high 29 points throughout. Hubbs is a five-star recruit who has committed to the University of Tennessee.
Charleston (11-2) will travel to Scott County Central tonight to take on the Braves with junior varsity action starting at 6 p.m.
CAPE GIRARDEAU -- The New Madrid County Central wrestling team lost 54-15 to Cape Central Thursday during a double dual meet that included Notre Dame.
Only NMCC's match against Cape Central could be attained before press time.
