MATTHEWS -- James Franklin Lathum, 55, died Jan. 15, 2013, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born July 17, 1957, in Sikeston to the late Eber and Freeda King Lathum, he was a self-employed farmer and well driller. He was of the Baptist faith, and was a 32nd degree Mason, Shriner, and lifetime charter member of Big Prairie Jaycees.
Survivors include: his wife, Lisa Lathum of the home; one daughter, Jenny Lathum of Cape Girardeau; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry and Cheryl Lathum of Sikeston, Tommy and Daphne Lathum of Bradenton, Fla., Teddy and Debbie Lathum of Doniphan, and Herbert Dale and Renee of Matthews; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Peggy and Melvin Seiler of Benton, Ky., and Deanna and Mike Fansler of Sikeston; and several nieces and nephews
One sister, Maggie Erwin, preceded in death.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of services at noon Friday at Ponder Funeral Home. The Rev. Jason Redden, pastor of Emanuel Baptist Church, will officiate. Masonic rites are scheduled at 10:30 a.m. Friday.
Burial will follow in the Matthews Cemetery.
