SIKESTON -- School board races have been set in some local districts as filing for the April 2 municipal election ended Tuesday.

Voters in the Sikeston R-6 School District will choose two of the three candidates on April 2: incumbent Scott Crumpecker, Agatha "Gay" French and Rebecca Steward. The school board's other incumbent, Mary White-Ross, opted not to seek re-election. Both positions are for three-year terms.

For Sikeston R-6 voters who may be wondering about the term held by Jim Gleason, who was appointed to the Board after board member Mike Marsh resigned last month, his term will be up for election in April 2014.
