PUXICO -- The Rev. Samuel H. McClellan, 88, died Jan. 16, 2013, at the Puxico Nursing and Rehab Center.
Born April 9, 1924, in Stanberry, to the late Samuel Nelson and Bertie Stricker McClellan, he had last pastored in Morley and Naylor for 20 years and had been the camp caretaker at the Church of God Youth Camp for 14 years. He moved to Puxico in 2005 where he attended the First Baptist Church. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was a member of the D.A.V. and the Puxico VFW Post.
On July 21, 1945, in Hatfield, he married Kathleen Fish, and he preceded him in death on March 24, 2005.
He was also preceded in death by: five brothers, Roy McClellan, Cleo McClellan, Charles McClellan, Gene McClellan and Carl McClellan; and four sisters, Mabel Young, June Farrnes, Bonnie Poe and infant sister Eva Saver.
Survivors include: three sons, David McClellan and Dale McClellan of Bloomfield and Daniel McClellan of Kansas City, Mo.; one daughter, Billie Carmack of Kelso; and seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Justin Miller of Puxico officiating.
Burial with full military honors will follow at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
