LILBOURN -- Harvey Eugene Taylor, 87, died Jan. 21, 2013, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born Dec. 10, 1925 in Catron, son of the late George Lee and Carrie Bell Lambert Taylor, he worked as a custodian and bus driver for Lilbourn Public Schools and had co-owned and operated the MFA Station in Lilbourn with his brother, Junior Ray Taylor, before retiring.
On Feb. 26, 1984, he married Billie Jean Ingle Stevens, and she preceded him in death on Oct. 1, 2012.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by: one son, Rickey Taylor in 2003; three brothers, Claude Lee Taylor, Albert Bud Taylor and Junior Ray Taylor; and four sisters, Rosie Bell Taylor McCool, Myrtle Laverne Taylor Ice, infant sister, Alma Marie Taylor, and Ruby Irene Taylor Brower.
Survivors include: one daughter, Sallie Duenne of New Madrid; one stepson, Mark Stevens of Benton; one sister, Juanita Louise Taylor Johnson of Portageville; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services were conducted at 1 p.m. today at Church of God in Lilbourn. The Rev. Jimmy Johnson, pastor of Catron Baptist Church, will officiate.
Burial followed in the Mounds Park Cemetery in Lilbourn.
Pallbearers were: Anthony Taylor, Aaron Taylor, Dustin Duenne, Justin Duenne, Jacob Johnson and Kyle Taylor.
The Ponder Funeral Home of Sikeston is in charge of arrangements.
