Oran handles Oak Ridge, Tigers hold off Gideon

ORAN -- The Oran Eagles wasted no time getting and staying ahead of visiting Oak Ridge Tuesday night.

Oran (17-2) scored 23 points to Oak Ridge's nine in the first quarter as they cruised to a 73-43 victory at Oran High School.

Alex Heuring and Jacob Priggel led the Eagles with 15 points apiece. Priggel shot 7 of 10 from the field. Kody Moore, who shot 5 of 7 from the floor, scored 13 points.

Hunter Seyer led Oak Ridge with 16.

Risco 79, Gideon 59

GIDEON -- The Risco Tigers took care of the Gideon Bulldogs 79-59 Tuesday on the road.

The Tigers (9-7) held an 18-point lead at the half. Although they were ahead comfortably after the first half, Risco was outscored by the Bulldogs 23-12 in the third where Gideon came within just two points.

Risco, however, put any notion of a comeback behind them by outscoring the Bulldogs 26-13 in the final period.

Jordon Pavy led Risco with 29 points. Caleb McCord, behind seven 3-pointers, chipped in with 26 points.

Gideon was paced by Corey Goin, who scored 33.

Risco, who holds a 5-1 record in the Tri-County Conference will travel to Senath-Hornersville Thursday for their next game.

Adrienne Eichhorn led the Lady Devils with 12 points. Lindsey Harrell added 10.

Both teams found themselves with 11 points at the half. Chaffee went on to score 17 points in the third and then 16 in the fourth to outscore the Lady Indians 33-18 in the second half.
