DEXTER -- Rachel A. Childers, 59, died Jan. 23, 2013, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born Feb. 1, 1953, in Dexter, to the late Leon and Mildred Marie Purcell McCoy, she was a homemaker and a former employee of Tyson Foods Inc. and Elder Manufacturing of Dexter.
On July 16, 1991, at Bloomfield, she married Lawson Childers who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, William Lawson and Paula McCoy of Dexter; one stepson, Virgil A. Childers of Portageville; one stepdaughter, Beverly JoAnn Allen of Malden; three brothers, Gary McCoy, Rodger McCoy and Danny McCoy of Dexter; two sisters, Carolyn Snider of Dexter and Kandy Koechner of Advance; and eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Jimmy McCoy, Dennis McCoy and Darrell McCoy.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday with the Rev. James Malloy officiating.
Burial will follow in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter.
